Our Interactive Immersive Sensory Room in Hebburn
Scenes wrap three walls and the floor, a growing library of programmes to choose from, and our support staff guiding every journey — from calm landscapes to interactive play.
One room, endless worlds
The Immersive Sensory Room is a sensory-rich environment built around projections across three walls and the floor. Seated or standing, clients are immersed in scenes around them. The system runs a growing library of programmes, downloadable as needed — from serene seasonal landscapes (beach, forest, space) to interactive games (catch fish in a pond, ride a virtual roller coaster, musical sessions or ball games). Support staff guide each experience, tailoring it to the client’s interests and needs.

How the room helps
Immersive experiences have been shown to reduce anxiety and improve mood for adults with disabilities. Clients often find the worlds highly engaging and calming, and the sessions can be both soothing — gentle nature scenes to relax — and stimulating, with interactive puzzles that support cognition. By engaging several senses at once, we help clients focus and feel present, which can ease low mood and sensory-processing difficulties. And for clients with limited mobility, the room opens up activities they can’t do physically — enriching everyday life.
